Tuesday,
April 5
- We're in
the "Decking" stage, less than one week after the deck
was installed and only 20 days until the boat leaves the
plant to come home to Rhode Island.
Here she sits, on the shop floor, surrounded by
boxes of who-knows-what.
The transom still doesn't have teak decking on
the steps, but you can see our "turbo stern"
with the extra pump outlet!
On
either side of the companionway, LOTS of sheet
stoppers will handle any task. Clip points
at the companionway for safety in heavy weather.
Looking aft, this is obviously a work in
progress...
This is the only 386 (to date) with teak decking
in the cockpit: we added it for our Scotty,
Smart Alec, who has trouble with fiberglass
surfaces.
Nicely formed hardware fits into the teak toe
rail.
Chainplates are tucked in as close to centerline
as the decks allow.
And the chainplate from below.
The nav station begins to come together.
The starboard settee, more of a parking spot for
tools than comfort for dinner!
